Thomas "Tommy" Carter

Mr. Thomas “Tommy” Carter, 85, of Ellabell, Georgia, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026 at his home.

Tommy will be missed by his wife of 31 years, Gail Carter; sons, David Carter and Joshua Carter (Monique); step-sons, Darrell Monroe (Amanda) and Steven Monroe (Christina); sisters, Carolyn Forkner of Fayette, Alabama and Linda Taylor of Garden City, Georgia; several grandchildren, including a special granddaughter that lived with Tommy and Gail, Madelyn Monroe, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Tommy was born in Savannah, Georgia and was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Red Carter; brother, Edward Carter; special nephew, James “Eddie” Carter, Jr. Tommy was a self-employed electrician, who never considered it work because he enjoyed it so much. He has been described as the hardest working man who always enjoyed helping others. Most of all, Tommy loved Jesus, and he enjoyed sharing his faith with others.

The memorial service to honor Tommy’s life will be on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. The family will visit with friends after the service.
