IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas Alan
Dangerfield
July 19, 1964 – July 18, 2025
Thomas Alan "Tommy" Dangerfield, 60, of Springfield, GA passed away Friday, July 18th, 2025, just one day shy of his 61st birthday. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Tommy was a devoted husband, a proud father, a doting grandfather, and a true friend to many.
Tommy is survived by his beloved wife, Esther Dangerfield; his two children, Kaytee (Brannen) Wilson and Jake (Madison) Dangerfield; and his cherished grandchildren, Emilee and Mason Wilson, who were the light of his life and his greatest joy. Tommy is also survived by his father, Coleman (Dot) Dangerfield, brother, Jason (Tonya) Dangerfield, sister-in-law Shelly Dangerfield, sisters Andi (Mathew) Coburn and Hannah (Stephen) Dangerfield, Uncle Alan Sheets, Aunt Karen (Gene) Kodama, nephew Jack Dangerfield, nieces Lily Dangerfield and Kelly Dangerfield, and several other family members near and far, that he cherished deeply.
Tommy is preceded in death by his grandfather, Arnold "AW" Sheets; mother, Jane Dangerfield; and brother, Donnie Dangerfield.
Tommy spent most of his career as a talented and hardworking diesel mechanic. He took great pride in his work and was known for his steady hands, problem-solving mind, and willingness to help others. Even after his retirement, he could often be found tinkering with engines or sharing his love of cars with anyone willing to listen.
Outside of work, Tommy was a man of simple but passionate loves: fast cars, good music, and above all else—his family. He found happiness in the little things—singing along to classic rock, teaching his grandkids something new, or simply enjoying an afternoon shin-dig with his friends and family. He was the kind of person who made others feel welcome, safe, and loved just by being himself.
Tommy will be remembered for his big heart, his quick wit, his unwavering loyalty, and the way his eyes lit up every time his grandchildren entered the room. His memory will live on in the stories we tell, the music he loved, and the lives he touched.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a moment to hug your loved ones, turn on your favorite song, and always remember to enjoy the little things- just like Tommy would have wanted.
