Pooler-Thomas Joseph "Joey" Wexel, 53, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011.
Joey was born in Savannah and was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Wexel. He was a Deacon at Pooler First Baptist Church and was employed with Imperial Sugar. He loved boating and was a great cook.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Wexel; children, Jamey Cadle, Ashley Wexel Bashlor (James), Cory Hill, April Wexel Williams (Brian); five grandchildren; mother and step-father, Deloris Niver Stone (Carl Stone); sister, Debbie Wexel Myrick; step-sister, Stephanie Johnson; niece, Alison Myrick Jolly and several other nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Pooler First Baptist Church located at 204 Hwy 80. Mr. Wexel will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Westside Memorial Gardens on Adams Road in Bloomingdale.
