Obituary

Thomas G. "Tripper" Smith, III, 30 of North Charleston, South Carolina passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

Tripper was born in Savannah, Georgia and grew up in Pooler.  He was a 2012 graduate of Calvary Day School and was employed with 1899 Landscape Solutions.  He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas G. "Gid" Smith, Jr., his paternal grandmother, Linda Farris Smith Boyd Averett, his maternal grandfather, Doy F. Lanier, an uncle, Stacy Lanier, and his paternal step-grandfather, Ray Telfor.  Tripper enjoyed fishing, going to the beach and eating good food.  He enjoyed sports, especially watching the GA Bulldogs and UFC Fighting.  He will be remembered most of all for his love for spending time with his family.

Survivors include his mother, Vickie Lanier Smith; brother, William F. "Will" Smith; maternal grandmother, Lois Lanier; paternal grandparents, Thomas Gideon Smith, Sr. (Diane); aunts and uncles, Jeff Lanier (Janet), Tim Lanier (Sonja), Kathy McIntosh, and Diana "Dee" Smith; fiancé, Lauren Cianchini and her children, Nico and Ellie Cianchini, as well as a number of cousins.

The visitation will be on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral to honor Tripper's life will be on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
