Timothy D. Wentz

Timothy D. “Tim” Wentz, age 57, died Thursday, July 23, 2026, at his residence in Rincon, Georgia. Born in Zanesville, Ohio, and raised in Junction City, Ohio, he was preceded in death by his father, James Wentz. His mother, Judy Wentz, survives him and cherishes his memory.

He is also survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Laura Wentz; daughter, Vanessa Wentz; son, Tyler (Charity) Wentz; grandchildren, Maggie and Grahm Heilman, James and Safiya Wentz; sisters, Ronda (Tom) Newlon and Jamie (Kevin) Marsh; mother-in-law, Carol Miceli; brother‑in‑law, Anthony (Gretchen) Miceli; sister‑in‑law, Angela (Larry) Hoff; nephews, Adam Welsh, Vaughn Hoff, Ian Hoff, and Beck Marsh; nieces, Rachel Davidson, Isabella Hoff, and Mazzy Marsh. Tim also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who held a special place in his heart.

Tim retired from The Parrott Group of Companies and made lasting professional and personal connections throughout his career, including his years at Borders Books and Music in Grove City, Ohio, and Safety‑Kleen in Hebron, Ohio.

A devoted dad and grandpa, Tim could make a new friend just about anywhere he went. He loved hitting (and yelling at) the little white ball and was proud of his three hole‑in‑ones, numerous eagles, and a unique feat he achieved in 2000: scoring birdie on all four par‑3 holes in a single round at his home course. He was grateful to build a home in Georgia with his “dream” backyard and to join the City Club at Lost Plantation golf course community. When they didn’t golf together, Tim would come home and give Laura a full play‑by‑play—good and bad—of every hole.

He loved sitting on the beach (but never getting in) and made frequent trips to explore his “favorite place on Earth,” Jekyll Island. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes football and Cincinnati Reds baseball fan, and maintained a love‑hate relationship—mostly hate, sadly—with the Cleveland Browns.
