Faulkville-Mr. Tommy Donald Monday, Sr., 79, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Tommy was a member of Faulkville Baptist Church, served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from Overnite Transportation Company.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Cason Monday; son, Tommy D. (Rachel) Monday, Jr.; daughters, Janie Freeman, Bobbie (Hollis) Overstreet and Shirley (John Valliere) Hottot; brother, Floyd Munday; sister, Florence Scott; four grandsons; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The visitation was from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the funeral home.
The funeral to honor Mr. Tommy's life was at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Faulkville Baptist Church with Rev. Albert Hill officiating. Active pallbearers were Joe Jones, Bubba Gumby, Billy Rahn, Billy Purvis and Nelson Graff. Honorary Pallbearers were Deacons of the church. Burial followed at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery with military honors.
