Pooler-Troy "David" Parker died peacefully at Westview Nursing Home in Port Wentworth, GA on February 12th at the age of 65 after a long illness.
David is survived by his wife of 45 years, Becky; two daughters, Kelly (Richie) Jervis and Tracy (David) Ranew; four grandchildren, Andrew Fordham, Caroline and Meredith Jervis and Alex Ranew; one sister, Gail Wallace. He is preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Frances Parker.
David was born on July 23, 1950 in Savannah, GA. He graduated from H.V. Jenkins in 1969 and joined the U.S. Navy. Afterwards, David worked as an electrician for IBEW Local Union 508 and with The Southern Company. He was known as "Wide-load" to his co-workers.
The visitation will be held at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home in Pooler on Sunday, February 14th from 4-5 p.m. with the graveside service being held on Monday, February 15th at 11 a.m. at Bonaventure Cemetery.
