Rincon- Trueman T. Gordy, 84, passed away, Friday, August 27, 2021 at Memorial Health.
The Effingham County native was a retired conductor for the CSX Railroad. He was a longtime faithful member of Rincon Baptist Temple. He was a US Air Force Korean War veteran that had a passion for helping people. Trueman loved Southern Gospel music, his church and his church family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Gordy; his parents Lonnie & Betty Faircloth Gordy; and sisters, Pauline Coleman and Bessie Mae Lovell.
He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Gordy; son, Scott Gordy (Bonnie); daughter, Stephanie Roberts (Richard); grandchildren, Scott Gordy, Jr. (Mandi) and Alaina Gordy; great-grandchildren, Trey Gordy, Michaela Gordy, MacKenzie Gordy, Kaiden Williams, and Kenadi Williams; step-children, Sophie Halstead (Robert), Stephanie Shapso, Joe Shapso, Sarah Sager, Abraham Erickson, Adam Erickson, Isaac Erickson, and Becky Roden (Ron); and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Visitation: 6-8 pm Monday, August 30, 2021 in the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 am Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Rincon Baptist Temple.
Due to Covid, the family realizes some people may feel uncomfortable attending visitation or funeral and they understand.
