Statesboro-Dean passed away at Effingham Hospital on Sunday, August 22, 2010.
She was born in Port Wentworth on February 2, 1921 to the late Robert and Ruby Rahn
Harn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Datas "Bubba" Hendrix, Sr., son,
Datas "Burch" Hendrix, Jr. and four brothers, Robert, Jr., Harold, Preston and Rodney.
Dean lived in Savannah and several other places before she settled in Bulloch County
over sixty years ago. She was a member of the Brooklet United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Springler of Virginia and Mable Sanders of
Statesboro and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins including special cousin and
caregiver, Audrey Hales.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the Funeral Home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Brooklet United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hendrix
will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow at
Brooklet City Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and caregivers at the Effingham Care
Center. Each one of them treated Dean in a special way. We would also like to thank the
nurses and caregivers at Effingham Hospital.
