Rincon – Una A. Usher, 86, passed away October 31, 2020 at The Oaks in Pooler.

The Effingham County native was a member of First Baptist Church of Rincon and the Fidelis Sunday School Class.  She retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Mrs. Usher was a fine pianist who played for many different churches during her lifetime, as well as at The Oaks.  She was an expert quilter and was active in the Quilters Guild.

An avid traveler, she and her late husband Lawrence took many journeys together, and helped with transportation for seniors groups for their church. Her travels continued for the remainder of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Lester Archer and Frankie Lee Archer; husband, Lawrence Burns Usher; sister, Grace Usher.

Survivors include her daughter, Lynda Osborne (William); son, Raymond E. Firkins (Rebecca); grandchildren, Katherine Daniel, Kristen Daniel, and Kaelyn Osborne.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Rincon.

Private interment will be in Beaufort National Cemetery.
