Bloomingdale-Mr. Van Allen "Buck" Lovell, 84, passed away on Thursday, May 14,
2009 at Hospice Savannah.
The Chatham County native was a Deacon of the Ash Street Baptist Church and served
his country in the United States Navy. He retired from Savannah Machine and Shipyard
and the Boilermakers Union Local # 26.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Bessie Mae Lovell; 6 children, 9 grandchildren, 10
great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. on Saturday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at
Gravel Hill Cemetery.
Remembrances may be given to the Ash Street Baptist Church, P.O. Box 146,
