Vance Loye Bevill, 74, entered eternal life on January 3, 2025 at Memorial Health Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Vance is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Peggy Bevill; his children Amy Exley (Robbie), Lisa Ellis (Jason), and Scott Bevill (Kira); sister Shirleen Hutto (Charlie) and brother Eric Bevill (Christy); grandchildren, Courtland, Sadie, Bella, Zoey, and Riley, several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Jackie Bevill and grandson, Sheldon Bevill.
Vance was born in Guyton on December 27, 1950 and made Clyo his home for the last 52 years. A 1970 graduate of Effingham County High School, Vance made a career blossom with the Georgia Forestry Commission for 34 year and retired in 2006 from the position of Chief Forest Ranger.
Upon retirement, Vance became an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan and made sure that he never missed a game. He was a Nascar fan and outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and always had a good story to tell. He was a family man who loved spending time with family, friends, and his dog, Tuck.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Stricklands Funeral Home in Springfield, Georgia. A short visitation will begin one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Al Usher will officiate.
