Pooler-V'Dola Mae Reddick Grovenstein, 83, died at home on December 7th surrounded by her family.
She was born in Millen, Georgia to Otis & Lola Reddick. V'Dola was raised in Port Wentworth, GA where she was a member of the Amy Exley Sunday School Class at Port Wentworth Methodist Church. She was employed at the Chatham County Board of Education as a school bus driver for 29 years. She retired in 1995 and spent the majority of her time after that with her children and grandchildren. Family meant everything to her and she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved camping, and every June for over 55 years enjoyed camping with her family and friends at Clark Hill. Due to her declining health, she was unable to fulfill that passion for the last 2 years of her life. She loved working in her yard, and her love of weed whacking was well known among her family and friends. Her undeniable energy and vitality could not be compared to anyone. There will only be one V'Dola Mae. If you met her once you would never forget her. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert Emerson Reddick and Otis Everett Reddick.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Lowell David Grovenstein, Sr.; sons, Lowell David (Dave) Grovenstein, Jr., and Daniel Alvin (Dan) Grovenstein; daughter and son-in-law, Alison & Robbie White; grandchildren, Kyle Hillis, Danny & Deven Grovenstein, Dustin, Dylan & Alana White, and her best friend, Betty Stone.
