Guyton – Vera Brogdon Keith, 86, was born on July 3, 1935 in Guyton, GA to her parents Floyd Evander and Margaret Barner Brogdon.  She went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 24, 2021.  She was under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA.  She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Vera was preceeded in death by her loving husband of 27 years, Jessie Keith, Jr.; son, Kenny Keith; brother, Troy Brogdon (Dorothy); sister Mary Owens (Earl); sister, Elizabeth Morgan (Jr.); and her son-in-law, Kenny Heath.

Vera is survived by her daughters, Elaine Vandiver (Kenny) and Robin Heath; sister, Linda Butler (Warnell); special friend of 17 years, A.R. Coward.   She has five grandchildren, Brandi Zeagler (Peyton), Summer Stone (John), Jessie Keith, Justin Keith (Zaneta) and Kevin Heath (Karen).  Vera has nine great-grandchildren, Lane Zeagler (Alycia), Kylee Zeagler, Logan Keith, Gage Keith, Kendall Keith, Bailee Stone, Andrea Stone, Blake Autry, and Kennedy Heath; and several nieces and nephews.

Vera is a life long member of Pine Street Baptist Church in Guyton.  She graduated from Guyton High School in 1953.  She played softball and basketball.  She drove a school bus for Effingham County for 20+ years.  She also loved fishing, gardening, but most of all, she loved her flowers.

Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the funeral home.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Guyton Cemetery.

The family extends their sincere thanks to Ogeechee Hospice in Statesboro for going over and beyond to care for their mother.

Thanks also to all of our family and friends for everything you did for our mom and all of us whether it was prayers, visits, gifts, fruit baskets, flowers, food, cards, texts, or calls.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons, Jessie Keith, Justin Keith, Kevin Heath, Lane Zeagler, Logan Keith, and Gage Keith.
