Bloomingdale-Vera May Smith Patrick died at home on Friday, December 12, 2008.
Vera was born on February 12, 1925 in Bromsgrove, England. She was the daughter of the late Alice J. and Leonard G. Smith. She came to the United States following World War II as the loving and devoted wife of Kermit H. Patrick who preceded her in death. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Smith of England, sisters, Beryl Wheeler of England and Evelyn Spence of Australia and grandson, Gary Callahan of Ohio.
She is survived by sons, Roydon W. Patrick of Sylvania, Leonard H. (Kay) Patrick of Brooklet, Kermit A. Patrick of Bloomingdale, and Thomas W. (Kathy) Patrick of Rincon; as well as her daughters, Brenda P. Criswell (Oscar) of Bloomingdale, Diane P. Bates (Charles) of Hephzibah, Latrelle P. Meyer (Robert) of Bloomingdale, and Sandra P. Hall (Michael) of Chelsea, Alabama; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Muriel King of Australia, Thelma Williams and Jean Gamble, both of England; and nieces and nephews in the U.S., England, and Australia.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home chapel.
Interment: Hillcrest West
