BLOOMINGDALE: Mrs. Vernalee Sheley, 69, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010 under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Mrs. Sheley is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence H. Sheley, Jr. and her parents, Lafe McCarty and Stella Brown. She retired from the Chatham County Board of Education and worked for Gulfstream.
She is survived by her children, L. Duane (Cassie) Sheley of Savannah, Sheri (James) Groover of Faulkville, G. Ledell (Glenda) Sheley of Bloomingdale and Robin Sheley-Nichols of Rincon; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sister, Pete (James) Dawson and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Goshen Road Baptist Church in Rincon.
