Mrs. Vernell T. Deal, 87, of Garden City, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at her home.

She was born in Savannah to the late Archie Charles Turner & Josephine Dixon Turner.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Archie Michael Deal, a sister, Joy Shea, and a brother, Archie Charles Turner, Jr.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garden City where she attended the Lydia Sunday School Class.  She was also a member of the Oriental Band's Ladies Auxillary.

Survivors include her husband, Virgil L. "Doc" Deal; two daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine D. & James Jackson and Nancy D. Traywick & Ronald Craig Plumbley; grandchildren, Jennifer Lee Barham, Michael Shane Deal, Shauna Marie Starling and James E. Jackson, Jr.; a number of great-grandchildren, and a sister, Laura Turner Worrell and numerous nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral will be on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
