Rincon – Vickie Jean Mikell Steele, 75, passed away November 2, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her family.

The Chatham County native was a member of Rincon Church of God where she served as church secretary and lead the senior adults ministry.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers and crafts.  She formerly was employed with the City of Savannah.

She was preceded in death by her father, Noel Mikell.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Dewey Steele; daughter, Michelle Steele-Taylor; grandchildren, Caleb Jackson (Amber), Paul Taylor, and Brittany Taylor; great-grandchildren, Aspen Price and Piper Jackson; her mother, Martha Mikell; sisters, Teri Mikell, Pamela Stout, Wanda Mikell, and Darlene Saxon; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Rincon Church of God followed by funeral services at 6 p.m.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Effingham Memorial Gardens, 880 Hwy. 119 S., Springfield, GA 31329.
