Obituary

Virgil "Irving" Zoller, 68, of Springfield, GA, passed away peacefully at his home of 68 years on December 20, 2022, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Irving was born to Virgil and Vivian Zoller on September 25, 1954. Irving leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Susan Cullen Zoller, daughter Kelli (Levi) Davis, son Michael (Allison) Zoller, grand-daughters Emmory Ely and Ellis Davis, and two grandsons arriving in 2023; siblings Berta Newman, Elizabeth (Fulton) Hursey, Herbert (Boma) Zoller and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Irving was an avid outdoorsman, master carpenter, skilled butcher, longtime farmer, and lover of the land where he lived his entire life. He was a friend to many, both young and old. He was well known for his adventurous story telling and mischievous antics. To know him was to love him. Irving will forever be remembered as a legend in Effingham County.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 23, from 1 – 2:45 PM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Springfield, GA, with memorial service to follow at 3 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to CURE Childhood Cancer (Catie's Fund), St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, and The Ronald McDonald House.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Hospice Savannah for their exceptional care.
