Mrs. Virginia Dale Kamppi, 82, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Candler Hospital.
Virginia was born in Savannah and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald R. Kamppi, her parents, Felix and Ada Stokes Schexnayder, her grandson, Korey A. Kamppi, half-brothers, Wally Love and Irvin Love, and half-sister, Ann Schexnayder. She worked for many years at Mary Calder Golf Course, Hunter Golf Course, and Lavida Golf Course, where she was a golf-shop attendant. She was an avid golfer and loved the game. She traveled the world with her beloved husband while he was in the military, and was also a homemaker. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Elks Club.
Virginia is going to be missed by her children, Carl A. Kamppi (Kathryn O.), Richard M. Kamppi, Kenneth R. Kamppi, Sharon Love, and Angie Love; grandsons, Kyle Kamppi (Lacy) and Ronald R. Kamppi, II; great-grandchildren, Harper and Hattie Kamppi, and other family, including her niece, Amanda Love.
The visitation will be on Monday, April 7, 2025 from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral to honor Viriginia's life will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Elkins Cemetery on Highway 204.
