Rincon – W. A. Rahn, Jr., 87, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Effingham Extended Care.

The Chatham County native was the son of the late William Austin Rahn, Sr. and Lollie Exley Rahn. He retired from Union Camp after over 40 years as a Machinist. He was a longtime member of Rincon United Methodist Church and the John Wesley Sunday School Class. He was a former member of the Frank F. Baker Masonic Lodge #46 F & AM and Emeritus member of the Springfield Masonic Lodge #440 F & AM where he served as Past Master in 1993 and later received his 50 year pin. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melinda Rahn, and sister, Beatrice Smith.

Survivors include his children, Bruce E. Rahn of Springfield, his fiancé, Connie Heidt, Michael A. (Tracie) Rahn of Rincon, Cathy (Alan) Heidt of Springfield; grandchildren, Jared (Erika) Rahn, Ashley (Brandon) Stille, Erin Rahn, Morgan Heidt, Shane Rahn, Joshua and Jessica Heidt; great-grandchildren, Alex Cela and Raegen Stille; nieces, Brenda Bush and Teresa Victor and their families.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Rincon United Methodist Church.

Interment will follow in Springfield Cemetery.
