Walter Dixon "Dickie" Mock
Sylvania - Walter Dixon "Dickie" Mock, 58 passed away December 29, 2017, at his home, of natural causes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Dixon Mock and Ruby Brower Mock.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa D. Mock; children, Jennifer (Kyle) Hall, Jason (Robin) Mock, Christy (RayDar) Webb, Bobby (Leighanne) Dean, and Codie Toole; bother Jeff (Kathy) Mock, nephews Brian and Kevin Mock; grandchildren Bailee Milne, Bryson Milne, Mason "Jake" Mock, Kenzie Lane, Katy Dean, Britton Webb, Baxlee Webb, and Levi Mock.
Born Aug 27, 1959, Dickie was truly larger than life. He grew up in Savannah where he attended Savannah High School and played baseball; stories of his baseball days will live on forever. He married his wife, Lisa, on April 19, 1997. Together they raised five children and just welcomed their newest grandchild into the family. He taught his family to work hard and play hard. Memories of family vacations, spending days on the river, camping at the lake, driving country roads, and sitting with "Pa" listening to stories will forever be cherished and missed by his family. He was a Senior Manager at Gulfstream, spending 38 years with the company. Beloved by his superiors, co-workers and employees, his legacy will be remembered by many and his presence will be dearly missed by all. His love, compassion, generosity and larger than life stories will be passed on for generations to come.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Springfield followed by the funeral services at 2 p.m.
Interment will follow in Jackson Baptist Church Cemetery near Sylvania.
