SAVANNAH: Mr. Walter J. Rogers, 66, died January 16, 2009, at his residence.
He was a life long resident of Savannah. He retired in July 2008, after 32 years at Piggly Wiggly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Israel and Elizabeth Rogers.
Survivors include his wife Brenda J. Rogers, two brothers and sister-in-laws: Jack and Mary Rogers, and Donald and Brenda Rogers. Two sisters and brother-in-laws: Patty and Raiford Cowart, and Mary and Bobby Wilson and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Monday from 4:00 until 6:00 at Thomas C. Strickland and Sons Funeral, 901 Highway 80 West, Pooler, Ga.
Graveside service will be 11 A.M. Tuesday at Bonaventure Cemetery.
