Bloomingdale-Mr. Walter A. Sweatt, 92, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2009 at
St. Joseph's Hospital.

Mr. Sweatt was born in Rumford, Maine and moved to Chatham County in 1936. He was
a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and retired from Union Camp
after 42 1/2 years.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Elise Sweatt of Bloomingdale; children, Warren
A. Sweatt of Port Wentworth, Gregory & Anne Sweatt of Rincon, William & Ellen
Sweatt of Marietta, Janet & Brantley Webb of Bloomingdale, Donna & Webb Jones of
Walterboro, SC and Lisa & Michael Shuman of Guyton; twelve grandchildren,
twenty-five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; brother, Paul E. Sweatt of
Rincon; sisters, Lucy McCusker of Cleveland, GA and Pauline Sweatt of Lake City, FL
and numerous nieces and nephews.

Prayer Service: 4 p.m. on Sunday in the chapel of the funeral home with visitation to
follow until 6 p.m.

Funeral: 11 a.m. on Monday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at
Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road.
