Faulkville - Wanda A. Barrs Hood, 81, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Hospice House of Savannah.

She was born August 19, 1940 in Screven county to the late Lewis A. Barrs and the late Margaret Eulee Moseley Barrs.  She was a homemaker.  She was an active member of MorningStar Community Church in Faulkville, GA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Hood, Sr.; parents, Allen and Eulee Barrs; son, Thomas Gary Counts; a daughter at birth, Kathy L. Counts; siblings, Anita Morton, and Lewis (Sonnyboy) Barrs.

Survivors include her daughters, Arlene Counts Taylor (Grady), P. Suzanne Powell (Kenny), Jamie M. Adams; grandchildren, Heather Parks Rafferty (Brian), Michael Parks (Breanna), Hannah Taylor Grimes (Timothy), and Abigail Taylor; 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Edmund Barrs; and several nieces and nephews.

The viewing and visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the funeral home.

The graveside funeral and burial will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Little Ogeechee Baptist Church Cemetery in Oliver, GA.
