Obituary

Savannah-Mr. Wayne Fleming Lippy, 69, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015.
Wayne was born in Richmond, VA to the late Fleming Lacy Lippy & Myrtle Aurelia Clarke Lippy. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, class of 1963. He graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VA Tech), class of 1967, where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets, a member of the "Maroon Mask," and the VA Tech Regimental Band "Highty Tighties." He joined the Navy in 1967 where he served for 3 years. He received the American Spirit Honor Medal on May 26, 1967. He was the lead guitar player for "Zachariah" and "Creation" in the 1970's. They created an album in 1973 titled "Rock N Roll Gypsies". He lived for a number of years in Seattle, WA, and Dayton, OH where he co-owned AAC ( Advanced Acoustical Concepts, Inc.) In 1995, he worked on the United States Microgravity Laboratory Space Program for NASA-Missions on crystal growth. He won Entrepreneur of the Year in 1998. He performed work on Air Force One, and was also credited with an invention for the United States government.
Survivors include his children, David Wayne Lippy, and Korinne Rae Lippy Morris (Matthew); grandchildren, Kirsten Taylor Lippy, Parker Edward Matthew Morris, and Jett Ryan Hartt; sister, Janice Lippy Colognori; wife, Carla Ann Lewis Lippy.
The visitation will be on Saturday from 1-2 p.m. followed by the funeral at 2 p.m. at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 W. Hwy. 80 in Pooler.
