Mr. W. C. "Billy" Seckinger, 89, of Savannah, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Seckinger was born in Springfield and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a 51 year member of Savannah Christian Church. He retired as an engineer from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 35 years of service and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, having driven the Riverstreet Rambler as his last job for several years. For the past 10 years he looked forward to meeting his friends weekly at McDonald's.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille F. Seckinger; son, W. Glenn Seckinger; sister, Geraldine Bragg, and several nieces, nephews, and special neighbors/caretakers, Roy G. Jackson and Becky Haymans.
The visitation will be on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with the funeral to follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jim Bolen officiating. Burial will follow at Guyton Cemetery.
