Mr. Wendell L. Wynn
Bloomingdale-Mr. Wendell L. Wynn, 61, died on Sunday, December 9, 2007 at
Memorial Health University Medical Center.
The Chatham County native served his country in the U.S. Navy for twenty-two years and
retired from Arizona Chemical after forty-one years of service. He was a charter member
and past president of the Pooler Jaycees and had coached girls softball with the Pooler
Recreation Department. He was a former lieutenant with the Pooler Volunteer Fire
Department. One of his greatest joys was spending time at his lake house with family and
friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Chester "Papa" Wynn.
Survivors include his wife of forty-two years, Midge Wynn of Bloomingdale; daughter
and her late husband, Alicia Wynn Driggers and Jody of Tarrytown; sons and
daughters-in-law, Danny Wynn & Carol of Metter and Dennis Wynn & Sandi of
Woodstock; grandchildren, Matthew and Megan Driggers, Katlin and Kylie Wynn,
Austin Padgett, Larkin and Amelia Wynn; great-granddaughter, Aidyn Driggers; mother,
Minnie Lee Wynn of Savannah; brothers, Rodney C. Wynn of Fleming and Lloye Wynn
of Pooler; sisters, Joseph Faye Rambo of Savannah and Charlotte Joyner of Midway and
a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at
Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road.
