Wendi Hales Rhodes, 48, of Rincon, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.

Wendi was born in Savannah, Georgia to the late Robert Grady Hales, Sr., and Patti D. Hales.  She was a Special Education teacher at Effingham County High School, a job that she loved, especially her students.  She enjoyed reading novels, crafting, projects, bargain shopping, going to concerts, and traveling, especially to the mountains.  She was a great friend to many.  Most of all, she will be remembered as a loving wife and mother.

Survivors include her husband, David Rhodes; son, Davin Rhodes; brother and sister-in-law, Robert G. Hales, Jr. (Liz); mother-in-law, Diane Skarin (John); father-in-law, Philip Rhodes (Louise); brother-in-law, Ken Rhodes (Melissa); sister-in-law, Wendy Rogers (Art); brother-in-law, Adam Skarin (Christen); nieces and nephews, Beth Claybrook, Sarah Flowers, Briana Rhodes, K.J. Rhodes, Matthew Rhodes, Lily Rogers, Bella Godineaux, Rhett Rogers, Austin Skarin, and Andrew Skarin; a number of great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and her dogs, Maggie and Zoe.

The visitation and viewing for Wendi will be from 10 until 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021 in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 West Highway 80 in Pooler.  All CDC and social distancing guidelines will be in place including the wearing of masks (Chatham County Mandate).

The graveside funeral and burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim with Brother Kenny Harrelson officiating.
