In Loving Memory of Wesley James Bassil
September 24, 1951 – October 25, 2026
Wesley James Bassil, 75, was a deeply loved man whose kindness, humor, and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone blessed to know him.
Wesley had an extraordinary sense of humor and a quick wit that could brighten even the hardest day. He always seemed to have the perfect comeback, and his laughter was as memorable as his smile. More than anything, Wesley had a way of making people feel comfortable, welcomed, and truly cared for. His warmth was genuine, his heart was tender, and the goodness in him was felt by all who knew him.
Wesley loved the outdoors and embraced life with a wonderful sense of adventure. He enjoyed horses, boating, traveling in his RV, and riding his beloved Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Whether he was traveling down the open road, spending time on the water, or simply enjoying the company of those he loved, Wesley found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments. He also had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his beloved dogs, including his cherished companion, Jaxon.
Some of the most treasured family memories were made during summers on the beautiful lakes of northern Michigan. Wesley loved his speedboats, and his nieces and nephews will always remember climbing aboard as he raced across the water. Those sunny days were filled with laughter, excitement, and the kind of happiness that stays in the heart forever. For his family, those memories will always be a precious part of Wesley’s legacy.
Above all, Wesley will be remembered for the love he gave so freely. He had a beautiful heart and a rare gift for making people feel seen, accepted, and loved. His laughter brought joy, his kindness brought comfort, and his presence made every gathering feel warmer and more complete. He was not only a beloved uncle, but also a treasured part of the lives of those who knew him.
Wesley was preceded in death by his brothers, Buck and Douglas, and his sisters, Patricia and Celeste. He is survived by his loving nieces and nephews, who will carry his memory in their hearts and forever cherish the love, laughter, and memories they shared with their beloved uncle.
Though Wesley will be deeply missed, the love he gave, the joy he brought, and the memories he created will remain with his family and friends always. His life was a gift, and his memory will continue to bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to love him.
Rest peacefully, Uncle Wes. Thank you for a lifetime of laughter, adventure, kindness, and beautiful memories. You will be loved and missed forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2-5 pm Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 1512 Ft. Howard Rd., Rincon, GA 31326.
