W.H. Scheider (Shorty)
Mr. W. H. "Dick" Scheider, Sr., 90, of Pembroke, Georgia, has gone to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Candler Hospital.
He was born in Savannah, GA to the late Herbert Farrell Scheider and Lillian Scheider Saxon. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, June Scheider, step-father, Porter D. Saxon, step-children, Lisa Hall, Matthew Cannon, and Johnny Cannon, sisters, Alma Saxon and Elizabeth Saxon, and a brother, David Eugene Saxon. He retired from the Army National Guard after 23 years of service. He retired from Union Camp after 46 years of service. He was a former member of Garden City Primitive Baptist Church and a current member of Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church. He was a member of Kings Construction Crew and he had formerly been a member of the Amazing Grace Gospel Group. He was a member of the Timber Masonic Lodge # 469 F&AM and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Virginia A. Scheider; sons, Anthony Scheider and William Henry "Ricky" Scheider, Jr. (Kathy); step-children, Karmen Duncan (Terrell) and Derren Hill (Ingrid); eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Richiedean Williams (David); brother, Donnie Saxon, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Monday, December 19, 2022 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church located at 9566 Mud Road, Brooklet, Georgia. The funeral to honor Dick's life will follow at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church with Elder Marvin Paulk and Elder Lindy Webb, Jr. officiating. Burial with military honors and Masonic Rites will follow at Northside Cemetery in Pembroke, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church, 9566 Mud Road, Brooklet, GA 30415.
