Mr. William Everette Boxxe, 100, of Guyton, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at his home.
Everette was born in Savannah, Georgia, was raised in Pooler, Georgia, and has lived in Guyton for the past 46 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Darwese Boxxe; his parents, Harry Joseph Boxxe and Sarah Bertha Love Boxxe; a great-grandson, Neil Morgan, and his daughter-in-law, Pauline Boxxe. He retired from Great Dane Trailers and was a member of Powers Baptist Church. He served his country in the Merchant Marines during World War II for two years. He enjoyed fishing, his favorite holiday was Christmas, and he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved so much. He is going to be missed.
Survivors include his children, Freddie Boxxe, Cheryl Morgan, Ruth and Jimmy Oates, Mary and Joe Hodges; grandchildren, Darrell and Jennifer Morgan, Cynthia and James Waters, Jamie and Lena Oates, Brandon and Kristen Hodges, Justin and Carla Hodges; great-grandchildren, Clint, Cole, Ansley, Taylor and Chase, Abi, Emi, Luc, Kelsey and Malachi, Kailey, Presley, Grady, Breanna, Blake and Becca; great-great-grandchildren, Wilder, and Evie; sister, Catherine DeWitt, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The funeral to honor Everette's life will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Ryan Ralston officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
