William L. "Fette" Turner
Guyton – William L. "Fette" Turner, 85, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Candler Hospital.
The Screven County native was a longtime member of Rincon United Methodist Church and presently a member of Pineora Baptist Church. Mr. & Mrs. Turner owned and operated the Standard Service Center in Rincon for many years. He later retired from Commonwealth Electric as a heavy equipment mechanic.
Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his parents, Nannie Grace McKinley Turner and James Palmer Turner; granddaughter, Juli Stone Gnann; sister, Dorothea Brigdon; brothers, James and Ray Turner.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mary Kight Turner; daughters, Brenda (Larry) Pack of Ellabell, Ann (Clifton) Stone of Guyton, Joyce Broughan (Rick Lindsey) of Richmond Hill; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jenny Wallace; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel.
Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
