William E. "Gene" Ginn, 52, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at his home.
Gene was born in Savannah and was a 1983 honor graduate of Savannah High School where he graduated with the 10th highest GPA in his class and played baseball. He collected baseball cards and enjoyed charting both music and sports statistics. He was an avid Jacksonville Jaguar fan, a NASCAR fan, and he never met a stranger. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth and was preceded in death by a grandson, Austyn Robinson.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnaire "Peachy" Ginn; their sons, Bret William Ginn and Eric (Stacie) Moody; grandsons, Myles Davis and Eric Moody, Jr.; father, Otis Eugene (Kelly) Ginn, Jr.; mother, Shirley Eleanor Purvis Register; siblings, Ruthie Johnson, Tony (Amanda) Ginn, Angel (William) Stokes, Morgan (Audrey) Ginn, Daniel (Krista) Ginn, and Jordan Ginn as well as several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth located at 402 Pinehurst Place from 11 a.m. until 12 noon with the funeral to follow at noon.
