Springfield – William R. Hicks, Sr., 80, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at his home.

The Michigan native was a retired from the US Navy. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Fleet Resources, and American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Fletcher & Lydia Helen Hicks; and brother, Terry Lee Hicks.

Survivors include his wife, Carol A. Hicks; sons, William Hicks, Jr., Robert Hicks, and Shawn Hicks; four grandchildren, Tracy Gilbert, Monica Hicks, Laim Hicks, and Katelyn Hicks; great-granddaughter, Janeigh Grace Gilbert; sisters, Wendy Dimmick and Sharon Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 1:30 – 2:30 pm Saturday, October 30, 2021 in the funeral home.

Funeral: 2:30 pm Saturday, October 30, 2021 in the funeral home chapel

Graveside service: 2 pm Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta.
