William Travis Horton
Springfield – William Travis Horton, 49, passed away Friday, January 25, 2013 at Effingham Hospital.
He was born in Telfair County, McRae, GA and loved to go visit his relatives there. He attended Abundant Life Church and had a phone ministry where he called to people to check on them.
Travis loved sitting on the porch watching the birds and squirrels. He loved to watch the outdoor channel on TV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William (Bill) and Shirley Horton.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Dianne Horton; father-in-law, Earl Shearouse (Margaret); sisters, Melanie (Wayne) Joyner, Barbara (Melvin) Joyner, and Amy (Billy) Rahn; brothers, Matt (Lori) Horton, Phil (Nancy) Mastin, and Gary Mastin; two sisters-in-law, Debbie (Tommy) Morris and Sandra Seckinger; special nieces, Amanda Seckinger and Rebecca Alkaaki; and great-niece, Eva Alkaaki; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Abundant Life Church. Mr. Horton will lie in state from 10 a.m.
Interment will follow in Stillwell Cemetery.
