Mr. William Joseph Hunter, 92, of Pooler, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Memorial Health University.
He was born in Ogeechee, GA to the late Charles Clark & Eunice Smith Hunter. Along with his wife, they owned and operated Hunter's Nursery. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a disabled WWII Veteran, he had also been employed at Union Camp for 29 years. He was a certified Horticulturist as well as a certified Trapper and was a member of the Ogeechee River Association since 1989.
Survivors include his wife, Lena Lucille Hunter; children and their spouses, Linda Marie Sibilio, Shirley Ciel Street, William Brantley Hunter & Renee, Gloria Jean Kasabian & David; grandchildren, Kelly, Michael, Tony, Beverly, Bobby, Joseph, Susan, Lucy, Ivy, Randy, Katie, Jessica, Brian and Christopher; 29 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Monday, July 2 nd from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral will be on Tuesday, July 3 rd at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Union Baptist Church in Screven County. Rev. Kenny Harrelson will officiate and his grandsons will serve as pallbearers
