Pooler-Mr. William Klaas, 81, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at his home.
Mr. William was born in Cleveland, OH to the late William & Virginia Klaas. He lived in Athens, GA for 29 years prior to moving to Pooler 3 years ago. He was formerly an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Athens where he had served as Financial Secretary. He was currently a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Pooler and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was recognized by the American Red Cross for his many donations of blood, was a volunteer for Junior Achievement for many years and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta Klaas; daughter, Pamela Lauer; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff & Celeste Klaas; grandchildren, Daniel & Justin Lauer and Cassidy & Carson Klaas and several cousins.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The cryptside funeral and entombement will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Evergreen Memorial Park located at 3655 Atlanta Highway, Athens, GA.
