Marlow – William "Bill" Saxon, Sr., 85, passed away December 15, 2023 at his home.

The Chatham County native was a graduate of Benedictine.  He was a US Marine veteran and served in the Georgia Air National Guard. Bill retired from Union Camp before starting his own business. He had been a member of the Optimist Club and he loved music. He was a member of Marlow Methodist Church and served as lay minister.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Saxon; his son, William "Billy" Saxon, Jr.; his grandson, Mark Holloway, Jr.; and his brothers, Chris Saxon and Robert Saxon.

Survivors include his children, Stella Collins, Stephen Saxon, and Lawrence Saxon; grandchildren, Kristen Saxon Wells (Bradley), Sean Holloway (Lisa), Spencer Saxon, Ben Saxon, Daniel Warren (Brennan), Mark Warren (Sarah), Brandon Saxon, and Noah McCoy; great-grandchildren, Justice, Kye, Sean, Jr., Natalie, Matthew, Elli, Jacob, Grace, David, Afton, and Ava;  sisters, Charlene Reynolds, Margaret Neal (Larry), and Alicia Morgan; brothers, Frank Saxon (Jill) and Joe Saxon(Marilyn);  brothers-in-law, Ray Saxon (Joyce), Richard Saxon (Patti), Larry Saxon (Lisa), Edgar Lowe; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 2 pm Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Marlow Methodist Church.

Burial: Marlow Cemetery
