William Earl Bacon, Jr. (02-10-26 to 01-15-16)
Pooler-Mr. William Earl "W.E." Bacon, Jr. , was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and Viola, his wife, who was standing at the door.
He was born February 10, 1926 to Annie Lou and William Earl Bacon, Sr. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy when he was 18, worked at Union Camp, and later worked rewinding motors and pumps in Savannah for many years. He retired from Electric Motor Service. He was the faithful and devoted husband of 61 years to Viola.
He was the wonderful father to his children, Jimmy (Brenda) Bacon, and Dee (Mark) Porter. He was a very special Papa to his grandchildren, Chris (Stasia) Marburger, and Jared Bacon, and great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Collin, and Sadie Marburger.
God gave us W.E. Bacon, Jr., and he was a man of many talents. He was a great listener, and could remember everything. He was a true "MacGyver", and could fix anything. He was a good man, a good neighbor, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sisters, Margie Brigham, and Gene Williams. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and sisters, Earline (Robert) Wilder, and Sue Ellen Hurt.
The visitation will be on Saturday (today) from 2:30 until 3:30 at the funeral home with the funeral to follow at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 W. Hwy. 80 in Pooler. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery.
