Rincon- William G. Whatley, 85 passed away, Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Memorial Health.

The Atlanta, GA native was a member of Rincon First Baptist Church. He was an engineer in aviation and the space program. He worked at Marshall Space Flight Center, LTV in Greenville, and retired from Gulfstream Aerospace. Bill was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and loved old cars (always owning one), and World War II history. He was preceded in death by his son, William Ray "Buddy" Whatley.

He is survived by his wife, Maryanne Eason Whatley; daughter, Teresa Gay Chiariello; grandsons, Joey Chiariello (Christina), Andrew Chiariello, and Nicholas Chiariello; great-grandchildren, Alex Chiariello and Cora Chiariello; a brother, Clifford L. Stephens (Lynn); sister, Frances Keene; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 11 am – 12 noon Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Rincon.

Funeral: 12 noon Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Rincon.

Graveside Service: 3 pm Friday, August 13, 2021 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, SC.
