Port Wentworth – Willie Leroy Edwards, 75, passed away February 11, 2022 at his residence.

The Effingham County native retired from ILA Local #2046 in 2005.  He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church, loved hunting, enjoyed listening to his grandchildren and the girls singing and playing the piano at church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Dorsey Edwards and Wilma Burch Gnann Edwards; brothers, Samuel B. Edwards and Hugh Cordell Edwards.

Survivors include his wife, Alma Edwards; children, Will Eschenberg (Sheri), Robin Terry, Tim Edwards (Annette), and Michael Edwards (Tiffanie); 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
