Obituary

Savannah-Mr. Windell G. Hodges, 81, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Candler Hospital after a short illness.
Windell was born in Newington to the late Howard & Gladys Hodges. He was also preceded in death by his son, Ronald Gene Hodges. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garden City and retired from Kemira. He lived in Meldrim for 40 years prior to moving to South Bridge in 1997. He was an avid gardner, loved watching sports, and was a loving husband, father, and grand-father.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Margie Royer Hodges of Savannah; daughters, Dr. & Mrs. Jeffrey Cauley (Jan), of Alma, and Mr. & Mrs. Michael Durkin (Carol), of Savannah, and his beloved granddaughter, Rachel Grey Prescott of Statesboro.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim.
