Pooler/Richmond Hill-Mrs. Yuvonne H. Miles, 79, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Candler Hospital.
Mrs. Yuvonne was born in Pembroke and was a longtime resident of Pooler before moving back to Richmond Hill. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar B. & Lera Harvey; her husband, John E. Miles; brother, Dr. Raymond Harvey; sister, Melba Rice, and a brother-in-law, Gene Duggar. She was a registered nurse at Candler Hospital and later an occupational health nurse at Fort Stewart. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and loved to read. Her great-grandson, Byron, was a constant companion.
Survivors include her children, Debbie & Durwood Gnann, Marsha & Arnold Moss and Walter & Cindy Sills; grandchildren, Melissa Cordle, Laura Schillinger, Erica Ross and Clint Sills; great-grandchildren, Ansley Cordle, Sarah Cordle, Alice Schillinger, Byron Sills, Adam Flaharty and C.J. Hale; step-children, John E. Miles, II & Brendett, Lupert E. Miles & Cyndi, Veronica Moore & Don, Catherine Boyd & Greg, Thomas C. Miles & Rebecca; step-grandchildren, Hope Shaver, Faith Faircloth, Lupert E. Miles, Courtney N. Miles, Ellis R. Phillips, Ellen V. Phillips, Britton Boyd, Leia Boyd, Beren Boyd, Seth Boyd, Tess Boyd, Lily Boyd and Tommy Miles; step-grandchildren, Mick Shaver, Rachel Shaver, Lee Shaver, Amy Faircloth, Easton McGinn, Cody Brinkley and Ryley Phillips; siblings, Gloria Cribbs & Russell, Lois Duggar, Dale Stempel & Conrad; 17 nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m. on Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary. The church is located at 320 Benton Drive in Pooler. Burial will follow at Northside Cemetery in Pembroke.
