Zackary Dayne "Zack" Norton, 15, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017 after an extended illness.
The Effingham County native was a 9th grade student at Effingham County High School, where he was a member of the ROTC and was enlisted in the US Army. He was an honorary Effingham County deputy and firefighter. Zack loved going to the lake and fishing, video games, anything military, paintball, and eating crab legs.
Survivors include his mother, Amber Norton Edenfield (Toby); sister, Emily Norton; step-sister, Makenzie Edenfield; step-brothers, Chase Edenfield, Noah Mock, and Avery Beacham; grandparents, Gerald Norton, Jan Norton, and Teri Edenfield; great-grandmother, Judy Gilder; aunts, Stacie Arnold (Scott) and Tracie Frawley; cousins, Kristy, Logan, Kyleigh, Brooklyn, and Lane; and numerous other relatives.
Visitation: 6-8 pm Saturday, June 10, 2017 in the funeral home.
Graveside Service: 11 am Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Hillcrest West.
