IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Zenon
Brandenburg
November 8, 1934 – August 8, 2025
Zenon Brandenburg passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, at his home in Rincon, Georgia, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born on November 8, 1934, to Stanislaus and Leokadia ("Lotte") Brandenburg. Zenon spent his early years in the town of Bodenwerder, on the Weser River in Germany, before moving with his family to Herne. There, he met the love of his life, Anneliese Heckelmann. They married on August 8, 1958, beginning a partnership that would span 67 years to the day, filled with devotion, hard work, and the joy of raising their daughter, Anke.
A skilled craftsman, Zenon mastered the trade of a winder, repairing motors, generators, and transformers. His career in Germany culminated as head of a department at Blaupunkt GMBH. In February 1973, he and his family immigrated to the United States, settling in Wauconda, Illinois. Arriving without speaking English, Zenon embraced the challenge, beginning work just three days later at Commercial Machine Works in Elk Grove Village. His dedication and leadership carried him to the position of supervisor before he moved with his family to Rincon, Georgia, in 1982 to work for Continental Field Systems in Savannah. He retired as plant manager in 1996.
Faith was central to Zenon's life. He was a devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He and Anneliese were instrumental in establishing the new Catholic Church, now known as Corpus Christi Catholic Church, in Pooler. There he continued as a Eucharistic Minister and was an active and faithful member of his Church.
Zenon was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and sisters, and one nephew. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Anneliese; his daughter and son-in-law, Anke and Wes Deason; and cousins, nephews, and nieces who will cherish his memory.
Those who knew Zenon will remember his tireless work ethic, his quiet strength, his sense of humor, and his deep love for his family. His life was a testament to perseverance, faith, and the bonds that endure across time and distance.
Memorial Mass will be held at Corpus Christ Catholic Church
Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
