Our History
Family owned and operated, Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Homes have been serving Effingham, Chatham, and surrounding counties since 1971 when Thomas C. "Tommy" Strickland, Jr, and his wife, Terri, purchased the Leslie Thompson Funeral Home, which later became Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Homes with locations in Effingham County and Chatham County. In April of 2022, the next generation, Thomas C."Trey" Strickland, III and Ryan H. Strickland had the honor and privilege of having the opportunity to purchase the funeral homes from their parents, and look forward to continuing the history of helping families through difficult times. Dwayne A. Duff, a licensed funeral director and embalmer, has worked with the Strickland's at the funeral homes since 1980. On June 11, 2024 Tommy went home to be with his Lord and Savior. Together, with humble hearts, the Strickland family will strive to continue a commitment to excellence. Colossians 3:23
